Ukraine
Last night Putin recognized two breakaway provinces of Ukraine as independent republics and sent in "peacekeeping" forces to protect them from the Ukrainian Army. Of course, this isn't an invasion of Ukraine since those two provinces are now independent countries... right??
Syria has already jumped on board and is also recognizing the two new countries.
Jen Psaki issued a statement saying the US would give Russia a severe slap on the wrist. Afterwards, Joe Biden reiterated that Russia would get a spanking.
It is my opinion that the US shouldn't get involved, militarily. This is a European problem and the European countries that desperately need Russian and Ukrainian energy should figure it out.
Sweet irony. Exactly two years ago Joe Biden went on record saying that Putin was afraid of him.
OMG - Yesterday, WaPo published an article "Putin Must Wonder: Where's Trump When I Need Him" praising Biden's incredible handling of the Ukrainian crisis and claiming that Putin would have an easier invasion if 'weakling' Trump were still in office. It is hard to imagine such a level of total insanity. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/02/21/russia-ukraine-biden-strength-putin-must-long-for-trump/
