Since today is Cinco De Mayo it's only appropriate to say "May the Fifth Be With You".
As we all know, Cinco de Mayo is the day we celebrate the discovery of Tequila. YAY!
- Sidebar - On a more serious note, historically May 5th is the date of a modest military victory in the Mexican quest for independence. However, here in America it is more a celebration of Mexican culture that has enriched our melting-pot nation. OK, OK, I know it's an excuse to party and have fun but we also enjoy and appreciate the cuisine, art, music, and love of family that Mexican-Americans bring to the table.
So... May The Fifth (of tequila) Be With You. HAPPY Cinco de Mayo!
- Sidebar - As a bit of trivia (for those of you who are too young to get the joke) until 1980 booze was sold in bottles that contained 1/5th of a gallon (25.6 oz). Hence, it was called a "Fifth". This was replaced by the current 750 milliliter standard (25.36 oz) so many of us Boomers still refer to the 750 as a Fifth.
