Aluminum production in Europe and China has been cut back due to the rising cost of energy, though China is rapidly building more coal-fired power-plants to keep their economy strong.
Century Aluminum, is shutting down its Hawesville, KY facility due to escalating energy prices. This is the largest producer of high purity aluminum in North America and one of the only plants able to produce aircraft-grade aluminum. 628 employees will lose their jobs and the United States will lose its domestic supply of this strategic metal.
In the meantime, the Biden Administration continues its war on domestic energy production. Good job, Joe.... best economy ever.
