The Fourth Turning

The Great Reset
Three months ago I started writing about the Great Reset.  I admit that I haven't followed through on the subject because I've been so shocked to discover how the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the UN are determined to achieve the Great Reset goals though global crisis.

neoterra.us/blog/sustaining-liberty-the-changing-world-order

Three books are key to understanding the impending global crisis.
  • The  Fate of Empires and Search For Survival - Sir John Glubb   1976
  • The Fourth Turning – William Straus and Neil Howe   1997
  • The Changing World Order – Ray Dalio  2021

The Fourth Turning
This book was written in 1997.   It mainly focuses on generational cycles within America but acknowledges that their perceived American cycles affect the entire world.

Their premise is that America (and presumably other nations) goes through a repeating pattern of strength, decline and crisis every four generations.  This is based on their observation of great conflicts every 80-100 years starting with the American Revolution in 1770's,  The civil War in the 1860's and WWII in the 1940's  (note that they skipped WWI, which didn't fit their model).

Although their theory lacks concrete evidence, the 1997 book predicts a groudshaking crisis in the 2020's that will shake American society to its foundation.  Current events are eerily coming to fruition.

I quote from the Introduction:  "Political and economic trust will implode. Real hardship will beset the land, with severe distress that could involve questions of class, race, nation and empire. ... The very survival of the nation will feel to be at stake".  "Sometime before the year 2025, America will pass through a great gate in history, commensurate with the American Revolution, Civil War and the twin emergencies of the Great Depression and World War II".

The book was written 25 years ago and the authors stated they could not foresee exactly when the crisis would take place or how it might materialize.  Only that it would occur sometime between 2015 and 2025 and that it might be triggered by an epidemic or an economic collapse.

Although the book does not coin the phrase 'Hard times create strong men',  that is certainly a good summary of their theory of recurring 4-generation cycles.

The Changing World Order
This 2021 book by Ray Dalio is one of the best I've ever read.  Ray is an economist and runs a large, successful investment fund.  He has studied the rise and fall of empires based on their economic strength reflected in their currencies.

The cycles he observes are much longer than the 4-generation cycle proposed by the Fourth Turning.   However, the process is similar.   A great nation emerges in a period characterized by a strong work ethic, a belief in prosperity, and respect for rule-of-law and property (which reinforces the work ethic).  It also helps to have some natural assets of geography or resources.

With success and power comes borrowing and living beyond society's productivity.  This lack of honesty and discipline leads to massive debt and eventual economic collapse.  The cycle has certain distinct phases:
  • Before the nation rises to supremacy its currency is backed by tangible assets (traditionally gold or silver).
  • The nation increases its money supply beyond its tangible assets and abandons the monetary standard.  With no backing, the economy is then based on 'fiat currency'.
  • The fiat currency remains strong for a period of years or decades because the empire and the economy are strong.
  • Since fiat currency has no backing the government is able to print and spend indiscriminately until the debt becomes unserviceable.
  • Hyperinflation takes hold. This destroys all confidence in the currency, wipes out everyone's savings and causes economic collapse.

As an aside, the last great economic collapse started with hyperinflation in Germany, WWII, and the  subsequent collapse of the British Pound Sterling as the world currency.  The US Dollar ascended as the world currency.

Where Are We Now
This is the BIG question, isn't it?   Both books suggest that we are on the verge of a great crisis, but from very different perspectives.

The Fourth Turning states that a nation can be destroyed by a generational crisis or it can come out better, stronger and rejuvenated. They point out that the Civil War nearly ended the American experiment, but our nation recovered and became the greatest nation in history.

The Changing World Order is more dire.  America can (and has) recovered from recession.  But no nation has ever recovered from hyperinflation. We are now at a crossroads between two really bad choices.

Unfortunately, the current Administration knows  they can survive inflation (remain in power) by giving away even more money (though that will only make inflation worse).  As I'm writing this, the Biden Administration is contemplating giving away free gas cards to distract the public from the unprecedented escalation in fuel prices.

I fear we have a government of weak and incompetent people who have the power to print money.  Elections Have Consequences.

The Fourth Turning on the left and the descent into hyperinflation on the right.

Ministry Of Truth - It's Back

6/17/2022

A little over a month ago, Joe attempted to destroy the First Amendment with his new Ministry Of Truth.  It didn't go well and Ms. Scary Poppins (Nina Jankowicz)  was soon relieved of her job  (Yeah... I know that she 'resigned').

Well, Joe is incredibly persistent at doing incredibly stupid things.  Yesterday (Thursday) the White House  created a new Disinformation Task force to be led by ... drum roll please ... Kamala Harris.  YAY!

The new task force will allegedly not be a 'Ministry of Truth'.  Instead the focus will be “Online abuse and harassment, which aim to preclude women from political decision-making about their own lives and communities, undermine the functioning of democracy.
”

It sounds like it's main job will be pandering to the upcoming RvW outrage.

Considering the awesome job Kamala has done with border security and how she averted the war in Ukraine, I'm sure this will be another stunning success for the Administration.

More Monkeypox
As I reported last month, the US Gov spent $119 Million to purchase 13 Million doses of Monkeypox vaccine.  Perhaps this is justified as 'an abundance of caution'.   But I think it's just virtue signaling.

Demographics Control Publicity
As of last week, there have been about 1100 cases worldwide and 25 cases in the United States. It hardly seems like a cause for fear and panic since the disease is NOT easily spread.
www.newsweek.com/monkeypox-us-states-virus-cases-twelve-disease-1713034

In a study by the UK Health Agency, 311 of 314 cases (i.e. 99%) were among men and only 3 cases were female.  Among the men, 99% were "gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men"   (which sounds redundant to me).

I'm not making any moral judgement here... I'm just saying that this disease is easily avoided and is receiving oversize publicity because it affects the LGBTQxyz community.
www.zerohedge.com/medical/uk-health-agency-99-monkeypox-cases-are-gay-men

A Rose By Any Other Name...
Although Monkeypox was discovered among monkeys in 1958, and has been referred to as 'monkeypox' for the past 64 years, the WHO claims that the disease must urgently be renamed because the term 'monkeypox' is stigmatizing.

The proposed, new name will be 'hMPXV' which is much more frightening (but less discriminatory).
virological.org/t/urgent-need-for-a-non-discriminatory-and-non-stigmatizing-nomenclature-for-monkeypox-virus/853

In conclusion, when you hear about a deadly new virus called 'hMPXV'... DON'T PANIC.

Oh Velveeta
I honestly thought it would be difficult to top last week's story where the State of California declared that bumble bees can identify as fish.   However, Kraft-Heinz has risen to the occasion by introducing drippy cheese-scented Velveeta nail polish.  YAY!

It's called Pinkie Polish and it comes in two colors:  red and Velveeta... I quote:
  • "VELVEETA is known for its rich, creamy texture and cheesy, melty goodness, so what better way to bring this to life for our fans than with something equally as rich and creamy — nail polish,  Our VELVEETA Pinkies Out Polish gives pleasure seekers everywhere an irresistible new way to show the world that they are living "La Dolce Velveeta" by living pinkies out."

Note: the company warns that the nail polish smells like cheese but it isn't edible... so I guess it really is a lot like Velveeta.

Farting Cows
We all remember when AOC said we need to get rid of farting cows to save Terra from climate disaster.

Well New Zealand is now planning to tax cow farts (and sheep  burps) to save the planet from this existential threat.

Please recall that Jacinda Ardern, the Prime Minister of New Zealand, has been indoctrinated through the World Economic Forum's (WEF) Young Global Leaders program.

You can't make this stuff up.... from the BBC.  www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/61747986#:~:text=%22We've%20been%20working%20with,New%20Zealand%2C%20told%20the%20BBC.

Pet Rescue Insanity
Remember when John Wick went on a vengeful rampage because some Russian criminals killed his dog?  Of course you do.  It is an established scientific fact that gun owners LOVE dogs.

Picture

Well, as of this week Kim Sill (or is it Sim Kill) who operates an animal rescue facility in California (of course) will no longer allow gun owners to adopt abandoned pets.  She states "If you lie about being a NRA supporter, make no mistake, we will sue you for fraud.”   Hiring virtue signaling lawyers instead of providing food and medicine certainly seems like the best way to care for needy pets.

What if needy pets have to be euthanized because they can't be placed??  Well... “If I go out of business, as a result, I go out of business."   This will probably be good news for Vietnamese restaurants in the area.

The California Drought
Just last week I wrote about the drought in the Southwest which is particularly troublesome for California.  I refuted the absurd claim that "this is the worst drought in 1200 years".

I'm happy to say that Zero Hedge has just come to the same conclusion.  YAY!  (click the pic)

Picture
The Progressive Urban Socialists (PUS) in the big cities are demonizing the rural farmers for using too much water to grow food.  State Legislators have proposed using taxpayer money to buy out the farmers and take their water rights. In other words, let's stop growing food so the folks in LA can fill their swimming pools and water their lawns. You can't make this shit up.  apnews.com/article/california-education-droughts-government-and-politics-76f37ee82207f64f2a051f3dd4438856

California produces roughly 1/3rd of the nation's vegetables and 2/3rds of the fruits and nuts (LOL).  I think the world needs food and the farmers deserve the water.

Pigs On The Wing
Smithfield Foods, the world's largest producer of pork, is fleeing from California.  They will be closing the huge Vernon, Ca plant within a year, putting 1800 Californians out of work.  They will also be reducing or exiting pig production in nearby states.

www.smithfieldfoods.com/press-room/2022-06-10-Smithfield-Foods-to-Close-Vernon%2c-CA-Facility-Reduce-Hog-Production-in-Western-Region
Smithfield, which was purchased by the Chinese with the blessing of the Obama-Biden administration, explained that the costs of doing business in California make it uneconomical to continue operations there.

It seems that even Chinese Communists hate utopian socialism.  The company claims that the retail cost of pork will not increase due to the cutbacks.... at least not in China.

Woodland Gardens - Destruction

Construction Is Destruction
Construction involves a lot of destruction.   Building a house (particularly on a challenging site) 'destroys' an area about 10 times the size of the house... particularly if there is a basement that has to be dug out.

A lot of space is needed to pile up all the dirt/rock that has to be moved.  You need staging areas for materials and to move heavy machinery.   When it's all done there's a large barren area all around the structure.   This isn't apparent in the suburbs where you plant some grass and do a bit of landscaping, but here in the mountains construction leaves some pretty bad scars.

A 60' long 4' high pile of rock from the basement.

Picture
Picture

Little by little, the area east of the house has become a fern and hosta garden.  Now there's a winding path where the huge pile of rocks was staged.  The two pics are from the same vantage point, as you can see from the trees in the foreground.
Picture
Picture

We put a lot of thought into ways to minimize the impact.   For example, we instructed our subs to stage most of the carpentry, siding and roofing in the area destined to be the driveway.  We roped off a group of 5 oaks and hickories, which now 'anchor' the 'north garden'.
Picture
Picture

I'm happy to report that all of those trees survived and they are thriving.  It has taken several years of digging up rocks and amending the soil, but the hostas in the north garden are flourishing!  As a bonus, the Black Cohosh and Trillium are making a comeback.

The Rational Prepper - Body Armor - Part 2

6/7/2022

Armor Ban
As I mentioned last week, the NY State Legislature passed a bushel basket of new anti-gun laws, one of which, bans the sale/purchase of body armor to civilians.  Governor Hochul signed the bills into law yesterday (Monday).  We may assume that other Democrat states will follow New York's example as good PR leading up to the mid-terms.  www.mynbc5.com/article/new-york-gun-control-legislation-june-2022-hochul-semiautomatic-rifles/40208503#

The new law bans the sale/purchase or transfer of a 'body vest' to anyone not engaged in an 'eligible activity'.  This is vaguely defined to include: law enforcement, military, security and other professions as may be designated by the State.  As with so-called 'assault weapon bans' I suspect that members of the State government will be exempt from the laws they pass on the rest of us.

Armor Basics
First, NO armor is bullet-proof.  Armor is bullet-resistant and provides a degree of protection from specific threats.

Second, (and I suppose this should be obvious) armor only protects the areas actually covered. Your arms, legs, hips and head are still exposed.  Wearing armor does NOT make you super-man-woman-person.  (But it does improve your odds of survival)

Body armor is rated/tested by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ).  The different levels of protection are illustrated in the following diagram, with Level IIA being the lowest and Level IV being the highest.    Levels IIA, II and IIIA can be provided with soft, concealable armor (such as Kevlar).

Levels III and IV require rigid armor plates.

Picture
Soft vs Hard
I suggest level IIIA soft armor but everyone's needs are different.  Here is a primer on hard vs soft armor.

Soft Armor
Soft armor, as the name implies, is relatively thin, lightweight and designed to be (fairly) comfortable for everyday use for extended periods of time.  It typically weighs under 5 or 6 pounds and is generally thin enough that it can be worn discretely  underneath regular clothing.  This is the type of armor worn by police throughout America.

Soft armor is constructed from flexible, strong fabrics such as Kevlar. The fabric stops the projectile and spreads the impact over a large area. Note that the impact may still cause serious bruising or broken ribs.

Soft armor typically wraps around the body and provides some protection to the sides, as well as extended coverage of the chest and back.

The main disadvantage is that soft armor is only rated for handgun threats and provides no protection against rifles.  Quality soft armor is also substantially more expensive than steel plates.

Picture

Hard Armor
As the name implies, hard armor is composed of steel, ceramic, or polymer plates.  Generally, steel plates are the heaviest (weighing in at 16+ lbs for front and back), fairly thin and the least expensive.

Polymer plates are much thicker than steel but they are also lighter, weighing in at only 6-7 pounds for two plates (front and back).

The primary advantage to hard plates is protection against rifle rounds.  Level III plates can defeat common AK-47 rounds, while level IV plates can provide protection against more powerful 'battle rifle' rounds.  The military and SWAT use level IV plates.

Hard plates provide less coverage than soft armor and are often worn with soft armor underneath.

Hard armor is worn over clothing and is not concealable.  The plates come in a bewildering variety of sizes, shapes and curvatures, as illustrated below.  However, comfort is NOT a primary concern and there are no hard plates designed specifically for women.   (click the pic for Pew-Pew's full armor review)

Picture
Female Armor
If you're a man (i.e. a non-birthing person) then you have virtually unlimited choices in armor.  There are far fewer options for women.

This isn't really sexist... it's mostly a matter of simple practicality... hard armor, purchased in vast quantities by the military, isn't comfortable for anyone. There's no discrimination against women.... it is heavy, it's bulky, and it sucks... just get over it.

Law Enforcement, on the other hand, uses soft armor almost exclusively (except for SWAT).  There are now a few companies making soft armor specifically designed for women.  There are two examples in the pics below.

For the ladies who are 'more average', I like the product on the left because it is composed of an advanced Kevlar + Graphene composite that is thin and breathable.   However, it is only available in generic sizes.   The product on the right is available in tailored sizes and can be ordered with cup sizes up to DD.   Click the pics for links.

Picture
Picture
Picture

You may think I'm being overly dramatic.... but I'm not. Here's a pic of the Ukrainian parliament during the Crimea incursion years ago. (Sorry, I don't recall who this is)

She isn't wearing the armor correctly... it should be pulled up higher... above the sternum to protect the heart and lungs.

But it illustrates where the world is headed.  Armor for the government... armor for elites...  but not for YOU.

BTW, I assume the pic is mirror-reversed... the wedding ring and phone are reversed.

Conclusion
Though soft armor will not stop rifle rounds, I believe Level IIIA is the most practical option for civilians (like us).  It is lightweight, concealable and can be worn all day (honest).

Mass shootings with 'assault rifles' make sensational headlines in the media and provide powerful Distractions for Dishonest Democrats (I love alliteration).  However, FBI statistics over many. many years show that rifles (of any type) are used in less than 3% of homicides, while handguns are used in the VAST majority of crimes (knives are in second place and beating or kicking someone to death is in third).

In FACT, more peple have been murdered with hands, feet or hammers than rifles every year for as long as there have been records.  I'm not making this up. ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2019/crime-in-the-u.s.-2019/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-8.xls

In my opinion, armor that you can wear comfortably and discreetly,  ... that provides reasonable protection from 90% of random violent crime (might not protect you from hammers or baseball bats) is a much better investment than heavy armor that you will never wear.

If you live in a RED state... DON'T PANIC you have plenty of time to consider your options.   If you live in a Blue state....  sorry, elections have consequences.

In sad news, the semi-official drink of Puerto Rico and pirates is going to get scarce.

Walmart is joining numerous other retailers and dropping the sale of coconut milk based on allegations that producers in Thailand are using monkey slave labor to harvest coconuts.  "The coconut trade uses social monkeys as chained-up coconut-picking machines, depriving them of any opportunity to eat, play, or spend time with their families," www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/walmart-drops-chaokoh-coconut-milk-peta-monkey-labor-allegations

I don't approve of cruelty to animals, but I'm going to miss those Pina Coladas.   Sing it again.

If you like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain
If you're not into yoga, if you have half-a-brain
If you like making love at midnight, in the dunes of the cape
I'm the love that you've looked for, write to me and escape

Yes, I like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain
I'm not much into health food, I am into champagne
I've got to meet you tomorrow and cut through this red tape

I'm curious... will the monkeys get unemployment benefits??

It should be noted that none of these major retailers have dropped Nike products for using human slave labor in China.  humanize.today/2021/06/nike-chooses-china-profits-over-uyghur-slaves/

In other news, there are allegations that farmers around the world are using enslaved chickens to lay eggs and enslaved cows to produce milk.

The Race To The Bottom
Ya know how our society has degenerated into giving out 'participation' trophies for just showing up?  Well, now public schools across the country will be giving out trophies (i.e. diplomas) even if you don't bother to show up.  No wonder why the Chinese are winning.

Schools in Cook County, Illinois (which encompasses Chicago) will be switching to race-based grading scales.... for equity and justice.

In a recent SAT test the failure rate was 77 percent for black students, 49 percent for Hispanics, 27 percent for Asians and 25 percent for whites. (Please note, the SAT is a national test and is not influenced by the local school board's grading scheme or teacher bias).

To promote equity, students will no longer be docked for missing class, misbehaving, of failing to turn in assignments.  Apparently, showing up and doing the work is a social injustice.

The tragedy here is that the overlords are not blaming teachers (or the system) for failing to teach black students (I admit we, as a society, are failing in that regard). Instead they are commanding teachers to hand out worthless diplomas to students who are completely unprepared to compete in the modern world.

I leave you with a thought... if teachers are no longer expected to teach should they still be called teachers??  westcooknews.com/stories/626581140-oprf-to-implement-race-based-grading-system-in-2022-23-school-year

Bees Are Fish
Now we all know that Supreme Court Justices can't determine what a woman is.  And we all know that there are at least 87 different gender identities and 8,700 pronoun combos.  But those are all human conditions.

But identity politics no longer stops with humans. California courts have now declared that bees can now be legally classified as fish.  Yep, insects can now identify as fish.
Picture

It occurs to me that when you buy solid chunk Bumble Bee Tunna (with two n's... tradeMark) it will actually be delicious compressed bumble bees. Be sure to opt for the wild caught, non-GMO bees packed in synthetic oil.  SO Healthy!!

And don't believe the pic of a fish on the can... Cuz California has decreed that insects are fish... with all the rights and privileges thereof.

Let Them Eat Bugs

6/4/2022

I love Marie Antoinette. So graceful, so elite and aristocratic, so arrogant, AND so dragged off to the guillotine.
WEF - Filet and Lobster for the Elites and Bugs For You
Back in February, I wrote about how the WEF, the UN and the European Union (EU) want us peasants to give up meat and start eating bugs... to save the planet. neoterra.us/blog/self-inflicted-scarcity-no-more-meat

Last week at their Davos extravaganza they doubled down and are advocating algae (pond scum) as a nutritious ingredient for smoothies.  And, in a 2020 white paper, the WEF writes about how we need to start eating weeds to save Terra. www.weforum.org/agenda/2020/11/weeds-good-food-control-climate-change

Maggot Burgers Are Good For Planet Terra
BUT, let's get back to bugs, shall we??

According to the WEF maggot-burgers require only one fifth the amount of feed and less than one fourth the amount of water as beef.  Oddly, bugs are barely any more efficient than chicken... if I'm really desperate to save planet Terra I think I'll eat chicken instead of maggots... thank you. (click the pic for source... I'm not making this up)

Picture
What's Wrong With Bugs?
It's a fair question.  Why am I opposed to eating bugs? Well, I have recently concluded a 'scientific' inquiry and I can now honestly answer that question.

I really like shrimp even though they have creepy legs and long antennae.  Shouldn't I also like grubs or giant roaches?  It's an honest question and I have considered it from a scientific viewpoint (trust the science).
So, here is the result of my scientific experiment.

First, I took some shell-on shrimp. I peeled off the shell (with the creepy legs) and squeezed the (uncooked) body of the shrimp... it is firm and 'meaty'.

Then I dug up some giant grubs that were destroying my garden.
I squeezed them between my (gloved) fingers and they burst like bags of slimy organs and goo.

I rest my case... shrimp are 'meat' and bugs are goo.  It's science.

Something Is Rotten In The State of Davos

There is a HUGE problem with the WEF narrative.

I'm not an expert in economics, but if bugs require 1/5 the resources of beef then shouldn't maggot-burgers cost about 1/5 as much??  By my estimates ground bugs should be less than $1.00/lb.

We don't have bug-beef in the US yet so let's compare against plant-based substitutes like Beyond Beef.  Since plants don't require any 'feed', Beyond Beef should be even less expensive than bugs.

However, I just checked and fake beef is $9.99/lb ($7.99 on sale) while Laura's 92% Lean, organic beef is $6.99/lb.  Store-brand ground chuck  is considerably less.

Anyone who buys Beyond Beef is just virtue signaling.  The starving masses that the WEF wants us to save simply cannot afford this fake shit.  It is a fraud.

Greed and Control
Fake meat costs more than (evil wasteful) beef and about 3x as much as chicken or farm raised tilapia.  Why on Terra would the WEF pour billions into bugs and algae instead of boosting chicken and fish??

Follow the money, my friends. Millions of small rural farmers and entrepreneurs around the world make their livings producing chicken, pork, beef and fish. It is a source of pride, prosperity and independence.  And the WEF wants to destroy pride, prosperity and independence.

Global billionaires stand to make TRILLIONS and gain absolute control over the food supply by destroying independent rural food production and replacing it with corporate urban maggot-ranches.

It is all about Greed and Control.   If you disagree with me then please watch the following YT.

Please support your local farmers, ranchers and chicken/turkey producers.  Don't let Gates and Bezos own the planetary food supply.
