Turkey Shortage

10/28/2022

Remember when the Biden Admin was bragging about how your 4th of July hot dogs would be 16 cents less??  Sure you do.
  • Hold on... wait... someone in the audience disagrees.   What's that? ... madame, please speak up.   Ah yes, of course ... Joe Biden is the best President EVER.
Picture

Well that amazing inflation-busting 16-cent windfall is long past.   Food inflation is at the highest level in 40 years and NOW there is a shortage of turkeys.  It seems that all of the turkeys have been given lucrative positions in the Administration and there won't be enough to go around.... so buy your turkey early if ya have the freezer space.
www.cleveland.com/food/2022/10/turkey-shortage-possible-buy-early-think-local.html

Here, on the mountain, the scientists and philosophers at the prestigious neoTerra R&D Institute have been brainstorming solutions for those of us who don't have giant freezers.   The Solution:   Miniature SPAM Turkeys... YAY!

You just need to sculpt tiny synthetic Cornish turkeys.  Make one tiny turkey replica for each guest!  YAY!     BTW... please use Turkey Spam to make your fake turkeys... it's more authentic that way.

At neoTerra  we realize that many people lack sculpting skills so we are diligently working on a way to 3D print your ThanksBegging dinner.    Unfortunately, we believe that Turkey SPAM will soon become as rare as 18-year-old Macallan Scotch.... so the team is now working on 3D printing Maggot-SPAM delights.  YAY!!

See??  To all the Deniers, semi-fascists and MAGA supremacists ...   Biden helping us all to see the virtues of scarcity,  poverty, and depravity.

How can anyone deny the Joe is the best President EVER.

Stupidity Is Contagious

Just last week I wrote about Climate Crazies throwing soup on a Van Gogh while other crazies were gluing themselves to cars.

Well the comedy continues.  YAY!

Two 'climate activists' from Just Stop Oil glued themselves to a Vermeer.  The first guy is hilarious... he glues his bald head to the painting   LOL.  The other guy is not as imaginative... he just glues his hand to the wall.  The tomato sauce is a nice touch.

In related news, two German protestors from Last Generation, hurled runny mashed potatoes on a Monet in Potsdam and then glued themselves to the wall.  It appears that super glue has become quite contagious.

I don't understand why security let these two in with a bucket of slop. LOL

I have saved the best for last!!    Two 'activists' from Just Stop Oil smashed a wax figure of King Charles in the face with cake.   This is particularly amusing since King Chuck is an anti-energy WEF puppet.    Keep it up kids... when you're freezing your asses off this winter I shall have some cake in your honor.

OMG... I just cannot write fast enough to keep up!!

A few days ago Elon Musk stated that he wanted Twitter to become an honest platform for free speech.  He also said he will probably have to fire 75% of the staff to make it fair and unbiased.

Today, he strode into Twitter HQ carrying a SINK and tweeted "Let that sink in".  LMAO.

The comments from Progressives are absolutely priceless!!  They are screaming at the sky.
Ya' know... Elon may be crazy OR Elon may be evil.. but right now you sure have to admit that he knows how to make a point!

In another post he told Twitter employees they can continue to work from home... just not for Twitter.  LOL

The Rational Prepper - Aging In Place

10/25/2022

Introduction and Recap
As mentioned in previous posts, I'm NOT a Doomsday Prepper.   I look at the probability of possible situations and how that situation might effect us.  I consider how much a particular 'bad' situation might cost versus how much it might cost to deflect or mitigate that scenario.

I know that sounds abstract so I will try to provide some examples.

Reality vs Anxiety
There are real, or at least probable, threats to our well-being and happiness.  AND then there are endless fantasies that are improbable or impossible.  Since the fantasies are more dramatic they tend to distract us from reality.

I try to be rational.  I don't concern myself with apocalypse scenarios.  For example, a Zombie Apocalypse is impossible (0% probability) and a killer asteroid strike cannot be mitigated.... so don't worry.

That said, I try to plan for situations that are inevitable or (at least) probable.

Considering The Inevitable
Aging, for example, is inevitable.  Declining health and vigor are an unavoidable part of life, but we can all take steps to sustain health and energy for as long as possible.  Don't smoke, try to eat healthy and keep weight under control, avoid stupid accidents,  get some exercise.

However, even with our best efforts, aging gradually extracts its due.  If you want to sustain a certain level of independence then you have to accept and accommodate the inevitable.

The first design of neoTerra was two-stories with a basement... similar to Chi-Terra.  This is the most cost effective way to build since it minimizes foundations and roof which are very expensive.

As we saw elders in our families declining we reconsidered.  We studied the concepts of aging-in-place and went back to the drawing board.  It set us back a few months in design but neoTerra became a home we could spend 20 or more years in.

Aging-In-Place
I will give you a few small examples from aging-in-place.
www.nia.nih.gov/health/topics/aging-place

Mobility and Accessibility
Many people think that you need to dramatically downsize as you get older.  This is not entirely correct.

An older 'family' of two has very different needs than a young family of five. But the the 'elders'  may genuinely need almost as much physical space. Fewer bedrooms, perhaps, but more space for movement.

In residential construction, the typical interior doors are 30 inches (sometimes as small as 24").  However, you can't get through a 30" door with a wheel chair or even with a walker.

While I try to avoid thinking about one of us being constrained to a walker, I sure don't want to be forced out of our home.  We went back to the drawing board and expanded doorways to 36"... we expanded the hallway from 36" to 48" and we expanded the areas in the kitchen to allow someone with a walker to be self-sufficient.

The most expensive adjustment was the deck.   We have 6+ acres of woods so the original deck concept was small.... basically just a balcony.     However, if one of us becomes mobility impaired then all that land becomes inaccessible. We more than tripled the size of the deck. There may be a point where we can't walk together down a mountain path, but we will still be able to enjoy each other's company and a mountain sunset.

Picture
Balance
Household falls are a serious concern, especially for women who tend to develop osteoporosis as they get older.  Obviously, stairs are the most dangerous aspect of a home but they can't be eliminated unless you are designing from scratch.    But, there are many small things that can be done when remodeling or renovating.

I was surprised to learn how many seniors are injured just trying to operate a two handled faucet, because they needed to keep one hand on the counter of sink to steady themselves.  Replacing them with single-handle faucets eliminates one small risk.

Picture
Picture

Having a seat and a grab bar in the shower is another consideration.  Many people are injured each year from falls in the shower.

Conclusion
Aside from aging and taxes ... Nothing in life is guaranteed.

The Rational approach is to focus first on situations that are inevitable... and then focus on situations that are probable:
  • Shortages
  • Inflation
  • Recession
  • Crime
  • Natural disasters

Who Moved My Cheese - The Reality of Abundance

10/25/2022

I've written quite a bit about how Globalists have created Scary Scarcity to terrify their citizens.  They want you to beg the government for more restrictions and controls.

I've also written about the immense abundance we enjoy here in America (and Canada).

Here is a small example of abundance.

Over the past 30 years, milk production has increased by 50% while milk consumption has been declining.  The US Government and dairy conglomerates have been converting the extra milk into cheese and storing it for decades.

The 'cheese surplus' is now at 1.5 BILLION lbs. Much of it stored in huge underground warehouses.
www.visualcapitalist.com/us-cheese-stockpile/

This has occurred even though Americans now consume more than twice as much cheese as they did in the 70's.

Please note that the charts are from 2019... before the current crush of inflation.  That said, in spite of growing population, growing domestic consumption and huge exports,  the productivity of our farms continues to create a surplus.
Picture

Analysis
The shortages and inflation we're experiencing in food (and  energy) are the direct result of governments (here and in Europe) that are both corrupt and incompetent.

Recall... just two months ago, French President Macron (a WEF puppet) said "we are living the end of what could have seemed an era of abundance… the end of the abundance of products of technologies that seemed always available … the end of the abundance of land and materials including water”.

neoterra.us/blog/the-great-reset-europe-is-so-screwed-part-2

Please let that sink in for a moment.  He is not saying we have a temporary setback and a tough winter ahead.   He is saying that abundance was nothing more than a blip and the era is now over... FOREVER.

He (and other Globalists) is telling his citizens that 300 years of material progress and increasing prosperity has ended ... apparently terminated by a bad case of the flu and an increase in CO2.

Conclusion
Don't believe the BS.   When they tell you that farting cows are destroying planet Terra... just go buy some delicious cheese.  There is no shortage.

I'm Beginning To Like VW
[October 19, 2022]  Although Germany's economy is going down the drain I'm starting to like VW.

A group of 'scientists' (i.e. activists wearing white lab coats) has glued themselves to the floor of the Porsche pavilion at a VW complex.  They are demanding that Germany immediately decarbonize its Transport Sector.   YAY!

Well, VW, being a good woke company supports their right to protest and is allowing them to stay glued to the floor.  At the end of the business day they locked the doors, and (in respect to current German law) turned off the lights and the heat to conserve natural gas.  I suppose the 'scientists forgot that lights and heat run on carbon.

Best of all, VW refused to give them a bowl to pee in.  LMAO.   Hey, geniuses, next time BYOB... Bring Your Own Bowl.    I imagine this protest is going to turn into a real shitshow   (OMG, I love my own jokes).   (Click the pic... honest the comments are priceless)
Picture
[October, 22, 2022]  UPDATE:  After 24 hours, Grimalda's hand got swollen and they had to call a doctor to unglue him.  After 42 hours, VW called the Polizei to remove the remaining 'scientists'.

Stupidity Is Contagious
I love Climate Crazies... SO MUCH FUN!

A group called Extinction Rebellion (XR) glued themselves to some Ferraris at the Paris Auto Show.  They are demanding the end of private ownership of cars.  YAY!  (Click the pic)

Defacing Art
It seems that defacing famous art works (for Climate Change) has become a popular new trend ever since someone smacked Mona Lisa with a French pastry.

Yesterday (Oct 14th) a couple of attention seeking 'Climate Activists' hurled tomato soup on a Van Gogh painting.  At first you might shake your head and wonder at such malicious yet ridiculous acts.... but it actually makes perfect sense.

Let us imagine that two youthful goofballs stand on a corner in Philadelphia waving Climate Change signs amongst the hundreds of strung-out degenerates and piles of trash.  Absolutely no one would even notice... in fact, they might be the two most sane people in the scene.

On the other hand, if they splash tomato soup on a priceless work of art they become social media super-stars.   Their lack of numbers, credibility or sensibility becomes irrelevant in the universe of social media.

I am disappointed, however.   Had they used a can of Campbell's soup it would have been a brilliant juxtaposition of an Andy Warhol icon and the Van Gogh classic.   I might appreciate such clever nuance.  But using Heinz soup just proves their lack of sophistication... an opportunity lost.

Sorry kids, you failed.

Scarcity Report

10/22/2022

Energy
We all know there is a global energy shortage and the ripple effect is creating shortages throughout the economy.  This shortage is self-inflicted by Uncle Joe and the Climate Hysterians.

Please, PLEASE don't try to tell me that Biden had nothing to do with it.   When the world's largest energy producer (The United States) declares war on energy the cascading damage is predictable.

Perhaps this should be viewed as a multiple choice question:
Q: What caused the Energy shortage?
  • A.  Intelligence shortage
  • B.  Honesty shortage
  • C.  Competence shortage
  • D.  All of the above
Picture

Adderall
There have been rumors of an Adderall shortage for the past few weeks.  Yesterday it was officially confirmed by the FDA.

Here again, this is, in part, self-inflicted by the Biden Admin.   Legitimate prescriptions for ADHD drugs increased during the endless COVID lock-downs as did 'recreational' use.  Faced with a shortage the DEA (which regulates production/supply) has indicated "there is no plan to raise manufacturing limits on ADHD medications next year".

It seems there will be NO Shortage of desperation and craziness in the months ahead.

As you may imagine, some people are resorting to old-fashioned nicotine to help them focus.
www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-11324855/Writer-REBECCA-LEY-tried-latest-fad-nicotine-products-striking-results.html

Diabetes Medication
This is the most ridiculous and infuriating shortage I've come across.  There is an expanding shortage of Ozempic and Wegovy which are used to treat Type 2 diabetes.

Why is there a shortage? ... you ask.    Well, weight loss is a side effect of these drugs and they are prescribed to persons who suffer from diabetes AND who are seriously overweight.

Celebrities started using these drugs to get rapid weight loss and it has spread through social media like wildfire.  Doctors are writing record numbers of 'off-label' prescriptions for  "people who have used the medication as a shortcut to avoid exercise and a healthy diet to help lose weight."

www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/diabetes-related-weight-loss-drugs-supply-issues-viral-trend

Hey!  A$$holes... give the diabetics a break!   If ya need to lose weight then Eat Ze Bugs instead of Ze Cheesecake.

Feeling Crabby?
Last year the Alaska Department of Fish and Game cut the snow crab harvest by 88%.  This year they have closed the season entirely, for the first time in history.

The snow crab population has plummeted in recent years.  Experts suspect disease while the media  claim that the crabs have packed their bags because of Climate Change.  (click the pic)

My personal theory is based on geography.  The crab fishery is in the area between Alaska and Russia.  It should be obvious that we have to blame Putin for the shortage.

Picture

Corvettes
Now this IS serious.  GM is shutting down production of Corvettes because of supply chain issues.

It makes (economic) sense for a  manufacturer to cut production of low-cost, entry-level cars to focus supplies on more profitable models.  When they cut production of the low-volume, high-profit Corvette they are genuinely screwed up.   www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/chevrolet-corvette-production-idled-parts-shortage

Europe Is So Screwed - Part 6

10/20/2022

Wow, I should give Europe Is So Screwed it's own tag.

Just yesterday, Suella Braverman, the 'Common Sense Pointy Knife Control' lady turned in her resignation to Liz Truss (the Prime Minister).

This morning Liz turned in her resignation to His Majesty the King.  At only 44 days on the job, she is the shortest PM in history.

In many ways, this is an unfortunate development.   Ms. Truss is a Conservative in favor of expanding oil and gas production in the North Sea and advocated abolishing giant land-sucking solar farms (in favor of restricting solar to rooftops).

Let us recall that the new King Charles is a WEF puppet who referred to the COVID pandemic as a 'Golden Opportunity" while speaking at a WEF 'Great Reset' event in 2020.  I wonder how Klaus will spin this situation (click the pic)

YIKES!  It is so hard to keep abreast.   Just a few days ago I wrote about how British Home Secretary Suella Braverman declared a zero-tolerance policy against pointy kitchen knives (and scissors).

Well, today Ms. Braverman has resigned after only six weeks on the job.
