Today, let's just focus on the phone (and not the distant cell tower) since the phone is the device you're holding next to your head.
Here are a couple of great graphics from Visual Capitalist that illustrate the best... and worst... cellphones. The data is from the German Federal Office of Radiation Protection... and we all know that the Germans take everything seriously. www.bfs.de/SiteGlobals/Forms/Suche/BfS/DE/SARsuche_Formular.html
The parameter used to measure phone radiation emissions is the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR). It is the unit of measurement that represents the quantity of electromagnetic energy absorbed by the body when using a mobile device. The European Union has established a safe standard at 2.0 W/Kg... anything above that is considered hazardous.
Note that these measurements are for a phone next to the ear or next to the body (i.e. in your pocket). If the phone is further away (say, in a purse or on your dashboard) then the levels will be MUCH lower.
Here are the 10 best phones in current use. Note that 5 of the best 10 are from Samsung. (click the pic to read the whole report)
Can cell phones rot your brain? I don't know. (But constant exposure to social media can)
Can 5G control your thoughts? I don't know. (But those Google phones ... )
If you're concerned about exposure then I suggest you purchase a phone with a low radiation level. If you have suggestions for further investigation please comment.
Live long and Prosper.
