This morning, (January 12th) the Commander of the mighty Iranian Navy threatened to send their 'fleet' to the Panama Canal. Projecting their power to the very shores of America. "Our interests and resources in the sea are very vast, and wherever we feel threatened, our fleet is present. "
This type of saber-rattling would be comical if the United States wasn't busy destroying itself. China is encouraging pip-squeak Iran to mock Joe Biden and heap ridicule upon the most incompetent American Administration of the past 100 years. (Perhaps even longer but I feel compelled to draw the line at Woodrow Wilson).
In point of fact, the United States Navy remains, by far, the most powerful Navy that has ever existed. Even at the peak of it's global empire, the British Navy never possessed such overwhelming power over ALL of its adversaries.
I do not make this statement lightly. We know, the Chinese Navy now has more ships than the United States but they are much smaller.
In terms of 'tonnage', the measure of actual capability, the United States Navy is still larger than the next 13 nations combined (and half of those are our allies, or alleged allies). BTW,. The picture below shows an American Strike Group. By itself it can rival any nation on Earth (except China in its own waters). AND... There are TEN more just like it.
