This segment is partially tongue-in-cheek.
At this point, the most likely situations are recession and runaway inflation. Loss of income is a real possibility for people who are working. Inflation is a drag on everyone, especially those of us on a fixed income.
Inflation
Remember when The Administration told us there was no inflation... then they said it was just transitory... then they said it wasn't such a bad thing because it would make us conserve more..? Recently, several Democrat intellectuals have said "Stop whining America... you are too rich anyway... just suck it up".
I don't know how anyone can approve of Biden's performance, but his approval rating still hovers above 30%. This is proof that people are irrational.
Recession
This week, the Commerce Department announced that the GDP shrank by .9% in the second quarter. This is much worse than the .5% gain that was predicted by Biden's cheerleaders. It follows an even worse decline of 1.6% in the first quarter.
President Biden declared that we are not in a Recession, No Way! C'mon man, this is the greatest economic recovery in history!
This is the same dishonest bullshit he told us about inflation last year. (click the pic).
Amazon alone cut over 100,000 employees in the 2nd quarter and numerous other companies are making cuts or instituting hiring freezes. www.zerohedge.com/economics/amazon-cuts-100000-employees-workforce-single-quarter
But never fear America, the Biden Administration is creating 87,000 new jobs at the IRS as part of the deceitfully named Inflation Reduction Act. It's classic Democrat economics... crush productive businesses while increasing taxes and expanding unproductive government. www.dailywire.com/news/bidens-inflation-reduction-act-would-allow-irs-to-hire-up-to-87000-new-employees-raise-taxes-report
History seems to repeat itself. The Great Depression followed the Great Pandemic (the Spanish Flu) and the Great Drought (the dustbowl was the greatest drought in modern history).
Here are some great meals from the Great Depression... for the coming days when you can't afford food. Many of the better depression-era meals centered around hot dogs, spam or dehydrated chipped beef. YUM!
Of course, even that crap was often unaffordable (or unavailable) so folks had to improvise a lot. Some of my favorites include: www.listchallenges.com/depression-era-food
- Hoover stew (Macaroni, hot dogs and canned tomatoes)
- Creamed peas on toast
- Creamed chipped beef (aka, shit on a shingle)
- Mayonnaise sandwich (if you are lucky enough to have mayo)
- Lard sandwich YAY!
- Bacon fat sandwich (even better than lard)
- Oatmeal with lard (better with bacon grease, of course)
- Spam and noodles. (Like Hoover Stew but made with Glorious Spam)

Remember America, the elite Democrats are telling you that you are too prosperous and you live too well.
Just a few days ago Mary Daly, the Fed President for San Francisco, said "I don't feel the pain of inflation anymore. I see prices rising but I have enough... I sometimes balk at the price of things, but I don't find myself in a space where I have to make tradeoffs because I have enough, and many Americans have enough". I suppose I should mention that Ms. Daly is a staunch Progressive who makes $422,900 per year at the taxpayers expense. www.zerohedge.com/political/i-dont-feel-pain-inflation-anymore-says-wealthy-fed-chair-ivory-tower
So, peasants, quit whining and vote Democrat.
