The site occupies about 4.5 acres and the central courtyard is roughly 140 feet square (almost 1/2 acre). The entire compound is surrounded by a 16-foot deep moat that once had a drawbridge! I've always wanted a drawbridge!
Unfortunately, it does need a bit of renovation. The current owners estimate that it would cost about $500k just to replace the roof and about $7M to refurbish the whole complex.
hmmm... perhaps it isn't a Rational Prepper project after all.
