Progressives hate the thought of anyone having any independence so they've invented a brand new boogeyman to keep you under control. LEAD POISONING from home gardens.

A recent study has shown that backyard chickens (and their eggs) contained 30X as much lead as store-bought eggs. VERY SCARY.

However, as a matter of full disclosure, the study was done in Australia and focused on properties that were contaminated with lead from proximity to lead mines or that had lead paint or lead pipes (does anyone still have lead pipes?).

It seems that science has proven that testing areas known to be contaminated with lead discovers those areas are contaminated with lead.

The advice from the Rational Prepper says Don't buy property next to a toxic mining operation, or a toxic waste dump or an Australian city. You're Welcome! Enjoy your veggies and eggs!

Today, the Labor Department released inflation figures for July showing that inflation continues at a rate of 8.5%. This is a slight decline from the record 9.1% last month... a decline that is certainly welcome news and the markets having a good day.

But then, Dishonest Joe made a press release claiming that inflation was ZERO percent. How does this guy get away with a steady stream of absolute, outright LIES? Here is the actual chart from Joe's very own Bureau of Labor Statistics. Does it look anywhere close to ZERO??

A New Gestapo Is Born

Senate Democrats have pushed through the $700B Inflation Acceleration Act which will throw more fuel on the inflationary fire.

There is a LOT of crap in this Bill, (including Billions for the Climate Hoax) but the most disturbing aspect is the enormous expansion of the IRS. The Bill includes over $80 Billion for IRS expansion (SIX times its current annual budget).

It will hire 87,000 additional agents which will roughly DOUBLE the size of the agency. (Click the Pic)

To put that in perspective, the FBI has about 35,000 employees and Border Patrol has about 21,000 agents. It should be obvious that Uncle Joe is far more interested in going after Americans than protecting them.

MORE AGENTS!!

To make matters worse, the agency is stockpiling weapons and ammunition. The Forbes report (linked above) and numerous other sources indicate that the agency has over 4,500 guns and more than 5 Million rounds of ammo, and is continuing to buy more.

I recall when the only 'weapon' an IRS agent needed was a calculator.

The Democrats have just unilaterally created a new Gestapo.

First there was a shortage of aluminum cans (because it takes a lot of energy to produce aluminum), then we got a shortage of beer bottles (it takes a lot of energy to produce glass).

Now there is a shortage of... wait for it.... CO2. You know, that evil gas that's destroying our climate. There's now a shortage of planet-busting CO2. LMAO

Pure, food-grade CO2 is a byproduct from the manufacture of synthetic fertilizer. Fertilizer plants around the world are being shut down because of the self-inflicted shortage of Natural Gas (NG).

To make matters worse, several countries are restricting the use of synthetic fertilizer (notably The Netherlands and Canada) because Greenies have decided that Nitrogen is also bad for the climate.

Now the anti-prosperity policies are coming home to roost. Night Shift Brewing and other small breweries in Massachusetts are forced to cut production and lay off staff because they can't get CO2. The Rational Prepper - Depression Era Cuisine

Introduction
This segment is partially tongue-in-cheek.

At this point, the most likely situations are recession and runaway inflation. Loss of income is a real possibility for people who are working. Inflation is a drag on everyone, especially those of us on a fixed income.

Inflation
Remember when The Administration told us there was no inflation... then they said it was just transitory... then they said it wasn't such a bad thing because it would make us conserve more..? Recently, several Democrat intellectuals have said "Stop whining America... you are too rich anyway... just suck it up".

I don't know how anyone can approve of Biden's performance, but his approval rating still hovers above 30%. This is proof that people are irrational.

Recession
This week, the Commerce Department announced that the GDP shrank by .9% in the second quarter. This is much worse than the .5% gain that was predicted by Biden's cheerleaders. It follows an even worse decline of 1.6% in the first quarter.

President Biden declared that we are not in a Recession, No Way! C'mon man, this is the greatest economic recovery in history!

This is the same dishonest bullshit he told us about inflation last year. (click the pic).

History seems to repeat itself. The Great Depression followed the Great Pandemic (the Spanish Flu) and the Great Drought (the dustbowl was the greatest drought in modern history).

Sustaining Liberty - The End of Private Property Part 3

In the first segment I outlined how Progressive / Globalist governments are intentionally working to end private property.

In the second segment I described how Democrat-run cities here in the US are abandoning enforcement of property law and allowing vagrants and criminals to destroy people's homes and small businesses.

In this segment I'd like to outline how Progressive governments at all levels are using Executive Orders and Regulations to destroy family farms.

Nitrogen Is Now Bad
The latest volley from the Globalists is to restrict the use of synthetic fertilizer and/or to restrict/tax livestock to reduce Nitrogen emissions. This is quite strange since Nitrogen makes up about 78% of our atmosphere.

Recall that Sri Lanka, which is now in a state of chaos, banned synthetic fertilizer last year resulting in massive food shortages this year. (about 40% of the world's food supply depends on synthetic fertilizer).

Other Globalist governments have ignored the Sri Lanka 'canary in the coal mine' and are proceeding with various bans and regulations of their own.

About a month ago, farmers in the Netherlands revolted in mass protests against new government regulations that will drive them out of bushiness. However, The Netherlands is not alone... many governments, infiltrated by the WEF, are enacting similar regulations in spite of impending global food shortages. Farmers in Spain, Italy and Poland have also initiated mass protests.

Strategy Of Evil
Please note that the Socialists (and Democrat Party) are NOT trying to directly seize farms. The farmers would surely rise up. Their strategy is far more insidious... they will use bogus regulations to force farmers into bankruptcy so billionaires, the Chinese and well-connected corporations can scoop up the land at bargain prices. I hope it is clear that the Globalists (and the Democrat Party) have absolutely no interest in 'humanity'. If they gave a shit they would backpedal on the Climate Change hoax... or at least delay their BS to avoid widespread famine in 2023.

No, they are so intent on destroying private property, self sufficiency and the rural middle-class that are willing to embrace famine and chaos.

They are not incompetent... they are evil.

II hope y'all will read these posts in chronological order. Otherwise, you might feel like you're watching Memento or some other film where time runs in reverse. I'm not gonna give y'all tattoos to keep track so you really should follow in order.

In the first segment, I claimed that Democrat/Progressive governments are intentionally working to abolish private property and destroy middle-class prosperity.

They are using many techniques to convince you to voluntarily give up. I mentioned several strategies. In this segment I'll talk about the decisions of urban Democrats to selectively abandon the rule of property law and destroy the value of middle-class private property in their jurisdictions.

When they succeed, the city can seize the property for back taxes or Blackrock can buy your property for 10 cents on the dollar. A transfer of wealth from the middle-class to the elites.

Rights vs Law
Please recall, that all our rights must be defended/enforced by Law (i.e. force). As a civilized people, we voluntarily relinquish almost all power of enforcement to professional Law Enforcement whom we hire as our civil servants. We expect (and trust) our law enforcement professionals to respect the Constitution (which they pledge to uphold) and to be reasonably honest and unbiased.

Property Law
As I mentioned in the last report, you, as a private citizen, have very limited authority to defend your own property. Unless society completely collapses (not likely), you are compelled to rely on Law Enforcement to defend your property rights.

When Progressive governments intentionally abandon their responsibility to enforce Property Law then thugs can steal, destroy or occupy anything and everything you have worked for. Law becomes meaningless and Law Enforcement becomes a joke.

When the Police refuse to protect your property rights you might decide to take matters into your own hands. Trust me, the Progressive government that is 'unable' to protect your rights will send SWAT to arrest you for threatening criminals. They will prosecute you to the fullest and most extreme extent of the Laws that they choose to enforce.

LittleRock
If you've been following my posts you know that BlackRock has been buying up residential real estate using cheap money from the Fed.

In my thoughts about how this all plays out, I'm 'inventing' a new company that I am naming LittleRock. This company will be buying up distressed property for pennies on the dollar. Maybe whole neighborhoods. Then LittleRock will send their heavily-armed, private security forces in to clear out the vagrants. The Soros DA's (who would have sent you to prison) will celebrate LittleRock for cleaning up a deteriorating neighborhood. Thousands of private homes will become LittleRock rentals. YAY. YAY.

You may think I'm exaggerating, but examples are playing out right now in Progressive cities. Portland, OR is the canary in the coal mine. Please click the pic. It is happening right before our eyes. "You will own nothing and you will be happy"

The Return of Serfdom
The Globalists (and their Progressive cheerleaders) want to eliminate private property of all types. They want everything to be owned by the government or by billionaires (because billionaires are very enlightened and not at all greedy).

Private Property = Prosperity
Americans have a deeply ingrained belief in private property... a belief that freedom and self-determination are based on the right to own a farm, or a business, or a home. Private property empowers people to pursue their own ideas and dreams without begging for permission from the King or the State.

You may have been told that this is universal... but America set the standard and fueled the dream.

In England, for example, through the mid-1800's, only owners of real property had the right to vote (US law was similar). However, virtually all the real property in England (and Continental Europe) was already owned by the ruling elite. America was quite different. Anyone with courage and a pioneering spirit could leave the cities and establish themselves in rural America. Anyone could own a farm, or a ranch. They could open a blacksmith shop or a sawmill. They became property owners in vast numbers.

How Do They Get All Your Stuff?
I've been pondering this question for quite some time.

'Liberal Democracies' can't fight all of us, so they can't just seize our homes, cars and businesses. So the BIG question is "how do they convince us to give up voluntarily?"

It should be clear that no single strategy will work. The Globalists are using multiple techniques to take your property and freedom. "You will own nothing. And you will be happy"

Propaganda and fear
Selective Lawlessness
Economic disruption
Regulation
Taxation

In the next few segments I'll discuss how the Globalists and The Democrats are using these techniques to deprive you of your rights and steal your prosperity.

Rights Only Exist If Enforced
While we expect that our Constitutional rights may be unalienable, in reality they must be defended and enforced.

The Right To Life
For example, you have a right to LIFE. However, if a thug with a butcher knife breaks down your door that 'right' won't protect you from the knife.

Your right to keep on living must be defended. It may be defended by the State (i.e. the Police) but it will probably fall upon you to defend your loved ones from harm.

Other Rights
The right to LIFE is embodied in the Right of Self Defense... a right recognized by every human culture since ancient times. All other rights are on far less less secure grounds.

You have no ethical or legal authority to use deadly force to protect your right of free speech or to protect your property. You must rely on the Police (a political organization) to prevent thugs from stealing your car, vandalizing your home or occupying your land.

The Rational Prepper - Introduction

This really should have been the first installment of The Rational Prepper, but a couple of other topics took precedence.

I should mention; the neoTerra blog was originally focused on Sustainable Design and Sustainable Living. Over the past year it has focused more on sustaining liberty and individual freedom.   The Rational Prepper segments will be more in line with the original focus on Sustainable Living.

This will be a long segment. I hope you don't lose interest.

Here We Go.

Sustainabilty versus Survivability
First, we need to have a common/mutual understanding of 'sustainable' since that is core to the whole concept of being a Rational Prepper.

I use the term 'sustain' in much the same way as 'preserve'. To 'sustain' is to prolong a desirable state or condition by some strategy or effort.   For example, no one has to sustain the sun coming up in the morning... it happens all on its own and requires no effort.

Conversely, no one seeks to sustain poverty or illness... those are not desirable conditions.

To survive is a whole different matter. It means to persevere, to live, through danger, hardship and sacrifice.   In my mind, survival is what comes next if we fail to sustain.

Threats versus Situations
I don't consider myself to be a prepper... I view myself as a planner.

A Rational Prepper must have the discipline to think about situations, circumstances and events rather than react to fear of Threats (capitalized).

Let us agree that the term 'Threat' (capital T) is a situation where your life/safety (or the life/safety of those you love) is in imminent danger.

I laugh when I hear some say 'They threatened to cancel me on Twitter". Ya, ya it's proper English but that isn't a Threat... it's barely even an inconvenience.   A Threat is when a maniac with a chainsaw is chasing you around Bed Bath And Beyond... in a Progressive city... where no one is armed. That is truly an "OH SHIT!!" situation.

We humans can rationally contemplate (and plan for) almost any situation if we are calm and put our mind to it. But, when faced with an imminent Threat or the perception of a Threat, the only options are fight or flight (or, perhaps, hunker down).

Keep in mind, that every psychological study ever done shows that humans are far more emotional than rational.   Think about it... you can scare the crap out of yourself sitting on your comfortable couch in your nice safe living room watching a scary movie (actually, I can't... but most people can).

Emotions, especially fear, are automatic. That's why Mass Psychosis is so effective.

Rational thinking, on the other hand, requires us to overcome our innate emotions... it requires discipline. If you perceive every potential Threat as a reality then your instinctive emotions will not allow you to rationally plan.

I remind you, that we live in an environment where media and dishonest government feed us a steady diet of FEAR. Scamdemics, spiraling crime, famine, climate change... it takes discipline to counteract the torrent of anxiety.

In the next section I'll talk a bit about how to conquer anxiety and think rationally.

Probability x Loss = Value
Personally, I view prepping is the same way I view buying insurance. I try to understand the likelihood that some bad event will occur... I try to understand how much it would cost to recover from the loss and that determines how much I'm willing to pay for insurance.

Of course, evaluation is not very precise. I have no idea what the probability of neoTerra burning down is, but I do have a fair idea of what it would cost to replace. I can put some rational value on insurance.

BTW, I'm using homeowners/renters insurance as an example because everyone buys it and it highlights the difference between sustain and survive. You buy insurance to sustain your lifestyle in the event of a loss. If you were willing to merely survive you'd skip the insurance and take the chance that you might have to survive in a homeless shelter.

The Rational Prepper evaluates prepping in the same manner as they evaluate insurance. In fact, I view insurance as the preferred form of prepping for any situation where insurance is commonly available.

Survival Mentality - The Cost of the Loss
At this point, I'd like to add a few comments on what I call 'survival mentality'.

In the previous section I describe a method where you can step back and 'rationally' attach a value to some aspect of sustainability... it may be insurance or some other form of prepping. But this only works if you can rationally contemplate the Cost of the Loss.

The loss of your Life (or those you love) is Infinite. It is impossible to attach a monetary value to your children's lives... if you embrace a survival mentality it is impossible to make rational plans. If you succumb to a survival mentality it becomes impossible to corral your emotions and anxieties.

Try to focus on sustainability and accept that survival is where we end up only if sustainability fails.

Situations to Prep For
Let's consider a few common situations that we should ALL prepare for. I will look at the probability and then the potential loss. This establishes a value... or the amount you might be willing to commit to preparing.

First, I'd like to stress... for any situation where insurance is commonly available , then insurance is the obvious 'prep'.

Loss of Income
For those who are working, the most likely situation is loss of income. You may not think of this as a 'Prep' but is is most definitely a situation that will adversely affect your life and is highly probable under the current Administration..

The equation: In today's economy the probability of loosing your source of income may be as high as 25% and the impact is 100% of your income. This is a pretty serious situation.

How do you prepare for loosing your job?

I was self employed for most of my career and I was frequently unemployed. Government 'unemployment insurance' provides a small safety net but it may not exist for many people (such as myself or the increasing members of the 'gig' economy).

The Prep: The only 'preps' for loss of income are pretty difficult. You must live beneath your means and build some savings. You must also invest in your skills and training/education to insure that you are valuable and employable. (Or, you must be lucky enough to be in the top 100 millionth of humanity and become a self-made billionaire... it could happen).

Aging
Very few people considering aging as a 'situation' they have to 'prep' for. BUT It Is.

The Equation: There is a 100% chance that you will age (unless you die young... but then you don't have to prep). It is guaranteed that you will eventually lose income, mobility and health as you age.

The Prep: This is a huge topic that deserves its own segment (Ageing in Place). However, a few comments are in order.

Ageing absolutely results in loss of income. Social Security is a scam and a joke. You will need equity and/or investments to mitigate the loss of income and sustain your life.
Ageing degrades health, eyesight, hearing and stamina. This Blog is not directed to those who willingly accept survival as cripples. We can't sustain youth but we can strive to sustain health and energy. Control your weight, stop smoking, get some exercise... live long and prosper.
- Sidebar - I understand that many, many people have been impacted by disease (cancer), accidents or genetics. They have a more difficult challenge than the rest of us. Nevertheless, aging is a 100% challenge for everyone.

Lions And Tigers and Bears... Oh My!
The whole point of the previous section was to encourage you to calmly look at the probability of a 'situation' in relation to it's potential cost.

The potential of a zombie apocalypse is 0.0%.
The likelihood that hoards of ANTIFA marauders will invade your community is 0.0%.
The likelihood that civilization will collapse is 0%

If we allow ourselves to believe in apocalyptic scenarios, the 'cost-of-the-loss' is almost infinite (loss of life). It is hard to be calm and rational when thinking about death. BUT, Keep in mind... infinite cost times ZERO probability is still ZERO. JUST GET OVER IT AND DON'T PANIC

There are many. MANY, other events/situations that can affect our lives and which actually have high probability. Fortunately, all of the likely situations are not only survivable but they are also sustainable.

NEXT
Let's talk about real-world, situations that our government(s) are intentionally creating right now.

Inflation (loss of investment, savings and buying power)
Recession (Loss of income, going underwater, loss of home, loss of family)
Scarcity (fewer goods, empty shelves and, of course, more inflation because desperate people will pay ANYTHING).
Increasing crime in urban areas. Defunded police, Progressive DAs... GTFO major cities if you can.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recently discovered strange lines of holes 1.7 miles deep on the ocean floor in the mid-Atlantic. It looks like they were made by a machine... evenly spaced in perfectly straight lines. (click the pic).

The origin of the holes remains unexplained and NOAA is soliciting theories from the public. Here's my theory.... Illegal Aliens... from Sirius Prime.

Reliable reports from Alien Experts (like Giorgio Tsoulkalos, above), indicate that the Aliens are armored with tech that is light-years beyond puny humanity.

However, decades of sci-fi movies prove that M855 can rip through hyper-advanced Alien shields like tissue paper. When phasers, lasers, disruptors and proton particle beams fail... our primitive lead slugs always save the day. YAY Humans!!

Maybe it's time to stock up on M855.... if you can find any.
